Up for sale is my 1984 Scrambler. This has been a fun project, but time constraints are forcing me to part with it. The restoration is well over 90% complete and would make a great project for someone who wants to piddle around with it over the summer to make a great weekend vehicle.

I stripped the Jeep down to the frame and replaced the body tub with a brand new 4wd hardware double walled fiberglass unit. I recall paying around $2,000 for this tub well over 5 years ago. The engine, trans and drive train have no major issues. The engine is the 258 (4.2 liter) straight six, and the trans is the T-5 5 speed. All fluids have been replaced. The carb was professionally rebuilt years ago, which included adding the bushings in the throttle plate to eliminate the vacuum leaks that cause them to constantly stall at idle. However, the carb does need some minor adjustment, as does the timing. The odometer reads 45,131, which I believe to be true. Starts up easily (although the starter hangs up every so often) and runs great once warmed up.

Many parts have been replaced, including the brake lines, rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder, fuel lines, fuel pump, sending unit, and fuel tank.

This vehicle just needs some finishing touches. The radio (Sony CD player) needs to be re-installed and some interior parts need to be installed. The wiring needs a final going through to make the blinkers work and a few of the dash gauges. etc. Most likely these are just bad grounds. I have the half hard top and hard doors, which were both repainted when the jeep was painted over 5 years ago. Windshield is cracked on the passenger side, but they aren’t too hard to come by out of a junkyard, or have a shop put one in since they are just flat glass. The paint isn’t 100% showroom perfect, but is fine for a weekend driver. It has been stored in my garage since I began the restoration over 7 years ago.

I have a clean title for the vehicle. I also have 99.9% of the parts that are not currently on the Jeep. They will go with it. Email with any questions.
